DGSL is partnering with Dedham Youth Baseball to participate in Major League Baseball's annual Pitch, Hit & Run competition.  Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is a FREE, exciting skills event providing boys and girls the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition.   Pitch, Hit & Run provides youngsters across the country an opportunity to participate in an exciting baseball/softball skills competition. This national initiative gives boys and girls, ages 7 - 14, the chance to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Boys and girls compete separately at all levels of competition.

Saturday May 7th, 1:45 PM, Rustcraft Field

Ages 7-14 (As of July 17, 2016).  Age Groups 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14

For those who advance, Sectionals will be held May 15 in Canton, 2 PM

Registration is required day of event, no pre-registration required.

Pitch, Hit & Run is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the “FUN” element of baseball/softball. Since there is NO registration fee, everyone has the opportunity to participate.

Pitch, Hit & Run tests three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball/softball -- pitching, hitting and running.

PITCH: Participant is tested throwing strikes to a designated “Strike Zone” target.  More Info

HIT: Participant hits a ball off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy.  More Info

RUN: Participant is timed, starting from second base, touching third then touching home plate.  More Info

All of the events are individually scored and converted to a total point score through the use of conversion tables.

Participants will compete in each of the three components of Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run and accumulate a total score based on his/her performance

The 1st Place All-Around, Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions in each age and gender group advance to the Sectional competition, May 15 in Canton, 2 PM
